Do what I say, not what I do

Its sad to know that people have some sort of wacko theory to achieve something. Yet, they are missing something - proof! As with making anything, you need substantial proof. No, I’m not talking about the theory only, you need practical.
So much for “substantial”
What do I mean by “substantial” proof? You need to prove that your theories are working. So, how do you do that? The basic idea is this: You have to prove something that you have proven. For example, if you are writing something about PageRank, you have to have a high PageRank yourself, and it must continue that way.
The irony factor
It is sometimes funny to see that you write about something, but you do not have it. Sure, it may be a great theory, but if only someone else applied it, but not you, then it is good as gone.
Be second
While being first has its obvious benefits, it does have its problems. Being first will put you in front of all that cross-hairs of criticism. “What if this doesn’t work” “What if this works?” If you are first, you will have finite support, because there is no one else who has done it before. Of course, if you succeed, you know what happens. If you don’t, who knows what happens. Hence, it is sometimes great to stand second because you can learn from the first.
Does it work?
The “duh?” part of this area. Everything has its “real test”. Let’s say you are trying to write up a theory on getting diggs. What’s the real test? If you submit your “article” on digg, and it gets dugg up (substantially), then it has passed the real test.
