GMail now >5 GB
Posted by multippt
A few weeks ago, I mentioned that Google mail was going to overtake hotmail in just 2 months time. Well, I was wrong. Google did it way faster, and managed to hit more than 5GB in just less than a month.
Looks like Google may have bought much more server space than before, because the growth rate in GMail space appears to be much more compared to 2 years ago. Well, it is a great feat that Google managed to increase its mail account by 5 times.
The current growing rate is approximately 4MB per day. So, it may take about a year before GMail hits 6GB. Of course, Google Mail can never compete with Yahoo mail in terms of space offered (Yahoo offers unlimited), but the prospect of having an ever-growing mail storage is kind of nice (”and you never have to delete a mail again”).
Ever wondered why Google still hasn’t taken GMail out of “beta” even after 3 years?
