PSP firmware 2.80 dumper (+ decryption) with kernal access
Posted by multippt
Kid101Skater from DeviantPSP recently developed a PSP homebrew application that dumps and decrypts the firmware installed on a PSP at firmware 2.80. In other words, full kernal access is effected by this application. Homebrew developers can use the decrypted dump and see how does things work on firmware 2.80 on a PSP. In other words, downgrading a PSP with firmware 2.80 is going to become a reality! Note that at the moment, there isn’t much you can do with this programme, and is actually a proof of concept of full kernal access on the PSP using firmware 2.80. Nonetheless, this is a major step in homebrew development for the PSP (sorry Sony…).
This homebrew application can be run via a TIFF exploit. Also note that this isn’t an official application from Sony, and that you run this at your own risk.
