It is great to know how many votes/digg/whatever… you need in order to get your story upfront. After all, it is great for planning right?

Digg - 46 to 81 diggs (the amount depends on which category you choose: generally choosing more popular ones require your stories to get more diggs, while choosing sub-categories requires lesser diggs)
StumbleUpon - N/A (1 vote is all it take to bring in traffic)
Propeller - 16 to 21 (similar to Digg, except on smaller scale)
Sphinn - 21
Reddit - ~50
Del.icio.us - ~20. The rate of getting votes will determine if it is on “popular”.
Pligg - 21

The threshold is dependent on settings. For some sites like Digg, the threshold changes with time and is dependent on popularity.
