Yahoo shortcuts as a win-win situation
Posted by multippt

Finally, a shortcut for making blog posts. Yahoo has practically narrowed down time needed to decorate your own posts by doing the homework for you - in the background. Whenever you write a post, Yahoo will lookup for certain images using it’s massive power and bring it straight to you. However, there’s that hidden potential it can bring - it may promote visitors to other sites as well, not just to your own.
Currently it’s available as a plugin for Wordpress.
Oh pretty…
Of course, the plugin will first aid your blog, because that’s what it is built for. Images have become an element in blogging, so most people put them. So are videos too. Yahoo shortcuts is really a shortcut that does all that for you - from pictures to maps. Type in a post and Yahoo comes up with shortcuts that you can add to your post. The default type of shortcut is one that brings up an internal search results page, while others are images and stuff. They add interactivity to posts. Pretty convenient ain’t it?
Huh? If others are using it I get to benefit?
Don’t forget that Yahoo is a search engine. The more blogs that use Yahoo shortcuts, the more likely your site will get traffic from them if it is in the same area of coverage. Remember that Yahoo attempts to get images for your post? If your image gets featured across hundreds, your profile will be in for some fame. Even if you don’t have anything to do with Flickr, Yahoo shortcuts have a habit of giving users access to it’s search capabilities - so you will end up having more visitors coming from Yahoo search if your site is well preped up for SEO.
Though, Yahoo shortcuts can be seen as an attempt by Yahoo to promote it’s services - but who cares about that if it actually does help everyone.
