Alexa glitch prevents updating of graphs

Looks like Alexa is unable to update the graphs and information used in the Alexa site. Only information from the 15th of February remains, so the graph now appears “stuck” to where it was 5 days ago. The problem appears to be because the Movers and Shakers list appears to be stuck at the 12th of February, and rather than letting it remain there, Alexa decided to freeze almost every other thing. At least the Movers and Shakers list now works, though manually updated. (Surprise, surprise! Google is STILL at 4th place…)

I guess the delay won’t really hurt Alexa that much. After all, it’s only 5 days traffic right?

Live search more popular than Google according to Alexa

That’s Interesting… for months Google has stayed at the 2nd position, until today where it fell to the 4th position (taken from 15 Feb). Seems like Google had a fall in traffic in their main page, relative to other pages. Though, knowing Alexa to be pretty inaccurate at times, the rankings may not really hold true.

Live search overtakes Google?

Strange. For a long time, Live.com has been far below Google. Now, it has shot up to have more traffic than Google.com, could be due to Microsoft’s recent offers to buy Yahoo (which Yahoo rejects). This is pretty surprising, given that if Internet Explorer 7 cannot support the Alexa toolbar, it means that much of the Alexa rank comes from Firefox and Internet Explorer 6 users, so only 30% of the Internet is capable of determining the ranking of Live.com. It’s also even more interesting to note that Firefox users are less likely to use Live search, while Internet Explorer users are more likely to use it, due to the way Microsoft advertises its site.

Gexes hits 200+ unique a month!

 A site developed by me on October 28th, with a specific target visitors, gained popularity less than two days. I’ve about to write this as some tips for some sites ;) . Looks like yesterday Gexes recieves more than 200+ unique visitors a day! With deriving 5Gb bandwidth a month.
Gexes.com has a traffic rank of:  2,102,478 , with a SEO score of 88% (use to be 97%, but i removed some things)
I’m amazed to see a site developed 10 days, and already has gain popularity.

Here are some tips you should do to improve your site:
- Make your site special, and something you would go visit for, pretend you are a visitor (example: I made a rapidshere dowloader site, because i needed to download off rapidshare easier, since i used rapidshare a lot, and I know a forum full of visitors needing this)
- Take a minute to look at your site, think about it, if you were a visitor, what would you want, and what did you hate (As I took a look at my site, I wrote down some changes i needed to do)
- Have a nice design by anyone, or you, something you like!
- Create an account at Google, and submit your link (be sure to verify your site!)
- Add a meta description, and a meta tag! (Search engines some of them still use it! It boosts your SEO Score)
- Title Relevancy, is a key for site search engines. be sure to make a good title, and add the same title onto your site somewhere! And do the same for description relevancy the same as you di with your META description!
- Make most of the links towards your site, such as redirecting to another site, go to your cpanel, and setup a rediction if your going o add links to other sites (I did tevine.com, so i made a redirection url www.gexes.com/www.tevine.com and it points to my domain and goes to tevine!)
- As posted as news in Tevine, use a Alexa url method, to raise your ranking! Such as http://redirect.alexa.com/redirect?http://YOURDOMAIN.COM/
- Advertise your site to forums specifically on the topic of your site, and somewhere most users will need your site.

This article looks quite well done, thus I decided to share it. 

It is important to get accepted by many advertising companies like CpxInteractive, etc and to get advertisers/sponsors. If you have improved Alexa Ranking you will get accepted fast, if you have bad alexa ranking you can be rejected or it may take many days for you to be accepted. But alexa rank is not really worth it because it only counts the traffic that uses Alexa Toolbar. If you don’t use Alexa Toolbar and visit someone’s site or your site then you will not be counted as a visitor to that site by Alexa. So Alexa ranking is not really that worth it. More »
